Hypnosis can be a powerful tool in helping you to give up the habit. I have worked in a number of ways with smoking and base this treatment on the depth of the habit with clients. For some, the one-off session will work, for others, longer treatment is needed.
So why is it so hard to stop smoking?
There is often an unconscious need that smoking is meeting. It’s not logical and you are more than likely to be unaware you have it.
We will attempt to discover the unconscious reason why you smoke. Perhaps you have convinced your unconscious it’s a good way to deal with stress. Smoking could be fulfilling a need for routine in an otherwise emotionally chaotic life. Smoking may also stop you feeling lonely or anxious. There are an indefinite number of reasons why people smoke, for effective treatment it is important that you are prepared to examine yours in detail.
The therapy also involves the use of hypnosis in cementing your desire to stop smoking. Your own suggestions of the life you want and the person you want to be will be used during hypnosis to resolve that conflict between the conscious and the unconscious.
I also record the first hypnosis session so you can listen to the recording in your own time. This allows the hypnotic suggestions to be further ingrained into your unconscious.
